Johnny Torrio
This man became a second father to me when my dad died in 1920. Johnny quickly appointed me as his right hand man when I moved to Chicago to be a part of his bootlegging business. Poor Johnny was shot by our rival gang and moved back to Brooklyn. I inherited the whole business and became the Boss. I even ran the business better than Johnny ever did. I expanded and quickly controlled the city's speakeasies, bookie joints, gambling houses, brothels, horse and race tracks, nightclubs, distilleries and breweries. I acquired the mass of my fortune while living in the Windy City. |
